A Force in the Continuing Commitment to High Quality Client Care
An essential member of the health care team throughout the years, the nurse has always assumed various roles in the delivery of health care to clients in every corner of the world. However, nursing as we see it today is far different from nursing as it was practiced years ago. The vast transformations in the nursing profession instigated by Florence Nightingale and its evolution to its present status provided a vision that the profession is in a state of constant change.
Recognizing these facts, the Jecsons Medical Center Department of Nursing, guided by the hospital’s vision, mission and goals, developed a plan of action in improving thekind of nursing care being provided by the department to its clientele.
Incorporated in this plan is the provision of continuing education, trainings and seminars to all nursing personnel for the improvement of health care services. This is to keep abreast with scientific developments and technical revolutions within the nursing profession all over the world. Furthermore, the owner of the hands that care is continually reminded of the essential aspect of nursing care and that is to maintain respect for the dignity of the human being across the lifespan.
The JMC Department of Nursing therefore developed and implemented the following activities:
It is indeed an immense challenge to maintain the high standard of nursing care needed by clients in all walks of life, but the JMC Department of Nursing, is committed to this challenge and to the upliftment of the nursing profession.
